Diane was a member of Torchwood One. When the Law Machines attacked London and all weapons-trained agents took to the streets, Diane held the fort at Torchwood Tower. Yvonne Hartman said that they were all in trouble if Diane was in charge. She told Ianto Jones that she had not heard from Tommy Pierce or any of the cleanup teams. (AUDIO: The Law Machines)
