Vinvocci
The Vinvocci were the race that created the Immortality Gate.
Biology
The Vinvocci were green, spiky humanoids. They resembled the Zocci, but were taller and green.
- In the associated Doctor Who Confidential episode, Russell T Davies briefly suggests that they are in fact related species.
Technology
The Vinvocci used shimmers to appear as Humans. These devices, disguised as a wristwatch, allowed Rossiter and Addams to work for Joshua Naismith undetected. Apparently the device is uncomfortable to use and the name of the device implies that the cloaking process involves light.
History
In 2010, A salvage team, consisting of Rossiter and Addams, arrived on Earth in order to find the Immortality Gate. The Gate had been reactivated by humans, which sent out a signal and attracted the pair. They infiltrated the company of Joshua Naismith, under the guise of two Human scientists. They were trying to repair the Gate, but the Master stopped their plans by using it himself. (DW: The End of Time)
Behind the Scenes
- They have two similarities assocaiated to the Slitheen and the Abzorbaloff's, the Vinvocci hate being named at what they look like from another alien same as the Abzorbaloff, then they shimmers to disguise them self but when they are in human form it is uncomfortable same as the Slitheen when they use disguises its uncomfortable.
