Eh, he left Earth in March 2010 in Children of Earth, but it looks like he is back... From what I know about his involment in The End of Time, he was seen filming in the streets, and what appeared to be the Shadow Proclamtion were with him. Alfonso from Voyage of the Damned may also be there with him. Well, from that, we can see he is clearly with non-humans.

My theroy is that he contacted the Shadow Proclamation at some point after leaving Earth, and then came back with them to discuss the events that are happening. I believe him leaving Earth was to set up for his role in The End of Time (as was his dissapearance in series 1 Torchwood, setting up for Utopia), as he would have gone unaffected by what the Master did to the human race because he had already left Earth. I personally believe, too, that his return to Earth in The End of Time will xet up for his role in Torchwood series 4 (perhaps the Doctor tells him to rebuild Torchwood?), which should be set in early 2011 in the Doctor Who universe.

His left Torchwood in March 2010 and returned in January 2011 (after The End of Time happened) from what I am saying. From there, I serr Torchwood series 4 as taking place within the first few months of 2011 (January-Febuary-March-April), and Doctor Who series 5 taking place, which airs in supposdly Febuary taking place around April-June-July-August. If there is a series 4 Sarah Jane Adventures, it might be September-Octor-November, and then a Doctor Who christmas special set at the end of the year in December.

Ugh, it turned into a timeline. Oh well.
