"Br'er Rabbit and the Tar-Baby" was a story which Danny Wilkinson's mother told him when he was little. It had given him nightmares for weeks afterwards.
In the story, Br'er Rabbit fought a glistening man made of tar and became more and more glued to his opponent with every blow.
