Death to the Doctor was a story pitched by Peter Harness for Series 9 of Doctor Who. An idea of It was inspired by the Arthur Conan Doyle story The Terror of Blue John Gap and the documentary film Into Eternity. In the background to the story, aliens would have dumped toxic waste on Earth in ancient history. To protect any possible future sentient life from stumbling upon the waste, they hid the waste deep underground in caves and then installed a warning system using psychic projections of terrifying monsters to scare off anyone who came close. The plot would have presumably revolved around the human discovery of this warning system. Peter Harness posted the first page of the pitch on his Twitter as part of the Doctor Who: Lockdown! rewatch of The Zygon Invasion.[1]
