Phoenix Court was a council estate in Newton Aycliffe which was home to Big Sue, Maddy Sharp, and Nesta. After being born from the leg of the Doctor in the Obverse, Icarus flew to Phoenix Court in the universe of the Eighth Doctor, where he was adopted by Maddy Sharp.

During a winter in the 1990s, Maddy, Nesta, and Big Sue left Phoenix Court with Icarus and met Iris Wildthyme and the Owls. (PROSE: The Blue Angel)

Behind the scenes

Phoenix Court originates from Paul Magrs book series of the same name, which The Blue Angel is partially a continuation of. Along with characters from Phoenix Court appearing in the Doctor's universe, the portions of the book set in the Obverse show a setting similar to that of the Phoenix Court books, with not only Iris Wildthyme as a resident but also mundane versions of various characters from Doctor Who.
