The Ancient One was the new Haemovore leader used by Fenric on the Board against Weyland. Succeeding the previous Ancient One, Ingiger, he had been a Persian king, later re-meeting his son Hurmzid.
The Seventh Doctor begged the Ancient One to release him from Fenric's chains, but was ignored. The Ancient One was later killed by a spear, and Fenric seemed to express remorse at his death. (AUDIO: Gods and Monsters)
