Dad-shock was the reaction to "sudden unexpected fatherhood" which Donna Noble, a resident of early 21st century Chiswick, saw "a lot round [her] way", entailing "blokes with pushchairs and frowns" and "[took] a bit of getting used to". Following the artificial creation of his daughter Jenny, Donna suggested that the Tenth Doctor was experiencing dad-shock. The Doctor, revealing that he had been a father before, dismissed this, explaining that she was infact making him think of his lost family. (TV: The Doctor's Daughter)
