Dalville was an actor in an alternate Paris in 1804. He was infatuated with Dodo Chaplet and wanted to corrupt and despoil her. His friend Bressac told him he was trying to philosophically justify his desire to sleep with her. They did make love eventually, leading to Dodo being infected with Minski's virus. But Minski was already dead by that time, so the virus had been rendered inactive. (PROSE: The Man in the Velvet Mask)
