In the years after its production, Hand of Fear slippers were considered to be an unsuccessful piece of Who merchandising. Apparently designed for use by the Hand itself, it appeared stumped when confronted with the prospect of how to actually utilise the product. (NOTVALID: Doctor Who? 208)
