Heinrich Schumann was a scientist. He worked with the Nazis during the Second World War on Adolf Hitler's advanced weapons research programmes.

After the War, the British co-opted him to work with the British Rocket Group. He developed a matter transfer device, possibly with subconscious alien assistance. Schumann used the device himself, allowing him to be taken over by an alien collective intelligence. The collective planned to take over the Earth, then all of reality. Lieutenant Tom Carver, who had also been transported through the device and come under the collective's control, managed to reassert his identity. He sacrificed himself to stop the collective, killing what was left of Schumann in the process. (AUDIO: Threshold)

Afterwards, xenobiologists at the University of Cambridge analysed Schumann's remains. (AUDIO: The Pelage Project)
