Jacob Sowersby was a human, and, briefly, a Cyberman, living on the colony planet of Teistus

Biography

Jacob was a human who lived with his single mother and sister on Tiestus, a human colony planet. When he got BOB implant, he briefly used it as a diary, talking about things like the love triangle between himself, Meena, and Charlie, before becoming bored with it and deciding to watch TV. On TV, he saw the President welcoming a new race to Tiestus.

However, this new race turned out to be hostile, and Jacob, along with his family and the rest of the colonists, were forced to run for their lives. However, due to Jacob’s BOB recording all his thoughts, they were soon tracked down and taken for conversion. Jacob, while finding the prospect of either scenario horrific, chose to be converted rather than die since he, unaware that as a fully-conveyed Cybermen he would dismiss such frivolity as "inefficient" and "unimportant", willingly chose conversion over death since he believed it would make him good at football. He wished to able to continue living as a human, but since the only prospects seemingly on offer were death as a human or life as a Cyberman, he reluctantly chose the latter.

Jacob briefly became a Cybermen, although noticeably followed a speech pattern far less articulate than a regular example of the species, more resembling his human self. Indeed, this conversion was soon halted, supposedly because of his BOB implant, although all others with BOB implants were converted fully without issue, and his human emotion successfully overcame the Cyberman part of him, although he could still feel it in the back of his mind, a fact he used to his advantage to overload the Pathweb with "irrelevant" information such as love, pork pies, chocolate, and books, destroying the invading Cybermen and allowing the recently converted human colonists to resist their Cyber-conversion.

After the victory of humanity, Jacob claimed that incident has taught him to appreciate life more, and so was going to seize all those moments he had previously missed opportunities for and/or was procrastinating. He saw his favourite singer Sarah Sperger, who had been a fan of for a while and recently briefly met while captured by the Cybermen, but she had been Cyberconveted before he had a chance to speak for her to ask for her autograph, but this time she seemed more interested in him rather than the other way around, due to his status as the saviour of the Tiestus branch of humanity! He also planned to finally ask Meena out on a date, but when he attempted to approach her he found himself still too shy to do so, so instead went to eat at a pork pie shop. (PROSE: Status Update)
