Kastac was a member of the Silurian science task force assigned before the Silurian hibernation to stockpile the new Fire Ice fuel source at the South Pole for use at their species' eventual revival. When Rick Pelham discovered their team, Kastac was among the scientists betrayed by Pelham and tricked into working at his orders. (PROSE: The Silurian Gift)
