Able seaman Phillips was a sailor.
He was among the seamen tasked with retrieving a German magnetic mine from the sands around Shoeburyness. While there, he spotted a stone in the water. He reached for it, and upon touching the stone, absorbed its knowledge. (AUDIO: The Oncoming Storm)
