The Quill were born in Quill nests. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did) According to a branch of the Lankin impersonating Orla'ath, "all Quill sisters" would try to kill each other in the nest, as she and Andra'ath did, to test each other's strength. (TV: Nightvisiting) Mothers would die while giving birth and their bodies would remain in the nest for their children to feast on. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did)
