By 1963, George Sinclair had a fiancée, although Helen was unaware of this as the arrangement had been in its early days and they had not told anyone. Her father, a traditionalist, forbade the match after Helen went on the run from the law. George never found anybody else that was "up to scratch" and died unmarried and childless.
