Omega Point

Philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin predicted that the ultimate fate of human evolution was convergence into a God.

One interpretation of the theory was that this God used time travel to create humanity in a grandfather paradox.

During the Civil War in the City of the Saved, Philip K. Dick explained the concept on Krish's talk show while promoting his new book, The Next Time I'm God, You Can Be the Devil. Dick hypothesised that the Civil War was the next step toward this destiny, with the two sides of the conflict representing a dyad which would eventually merge into "the ultimate monad." However, Dick rejected the idea that this God would be worth worshipping, as evolution was cruel and could not produce a God of compassion. He concluded these remarks just as the Anonymity penetrated the City. (PROSE: A Hundred Words from a Civil War)

Behind the scenes

In the real world, Teilhard named this concept "the Omega Point".
