James Zarn
Professor James Zarn was a molecular engineer who enjoyed partying and drinking Voxnic, meaning he effectively lived with a permanent hangover. He invented the revitalising modulator to cure hangovers.
Using the machine, Professor Zarn was not only able to cure his hangovers but also to reinvigorate himself, meaning that his performance at work improved. He eradicated space plague by breeding far-jumping "super fleas" which bred with the regular ones, resulting in fleas which failed to successfully move from one person to the next. He was awarded the Astral-Freed Award and used his prize money to host more outrageous parties.
Professor Zarn died when, drunk, he entered the modulator with a bottle of Voxnic. The revitalising process meant that the alcohol became hostile and its atoms absorbed his before multiplying, resulting in the creation of a large bottle of the beverage which the drunk guests proceeded to drink.
