Adam Smith is a British television director who debuted on Doctor Who with Matt Smith's inaugural episode, The Eleventh Hour. He went on to direct the Weeping Angel two-part story in Smith's first series.

He has been active on British television since he directed four episodes of Skins in 2007. He followed up that experience with a sizable chunk of episodes of the 2008 adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit, co-starring Bill Paterson, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles, and Arthur Darvill.
