Nova Scotia was an area in mainland North America.
In 1002, the First Doctor, Barbara, Susan and Ian sailed with Eric the Red sailed from Greenland to Newfoundland and then to what would later become Nova Scotia. They arrived in an area Ian recognised would later become the town of Pugwash. Three hours walk from Pugwash was the Bay of Fundy. (PROSE: Who Discovered America?)
