Gnas Gortine was a remake of the manfolk folk hero of Gnas by Hent Gortine, leader of a masculinist faction among the manfolk in the City of the Saved. In the legends Gnas is described as a shrewd judge of human nature and his trickster like nature. However, there never was a real Gnas, and so Gnas Gortine was the most real that any version of Gnas ever was.

While in the City, trickster hero turned revolutionary, being heavily involved in the revolt of Manfold as the security protocols were turned off near the Epicentre, including piloting a massive package of potent explosives to Memorial Park in a symbolic gesture, ensuring that there would be constant conflict and starting the City of the Saved Civil War.
