"Merry Xmas Everybody" was a popular Christmas song on the planet Earth. The song was playing on Mickey Smith's garage's radio when the newly-regenerated Doctor crash-landed on the Powell Estate on Christmas Eve 2006. (DW: The Christmas Invasion) In 2007, the song was playing at Donna Noble's first wedding reception. (DW: The Runaway Bride) It also was heard on the radio in an alternate version of Christmas 2007. In the real world, it was popularized in the United Kingdom by the rock band Slade in 1973.
