"You Really Got Me" was a song playing on a nearby radio when Maria Jackson, having been transported back in time from the early 21st century, encountered a young Sarah Jane Smith. (SJA: Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)
- "It is established that Maria arrived in July 1964, which was actually a month before The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" was released. Presumably it was either being promoted via radio play in advance of its release as a single or, for reasons unknown, the song was released at a different time in the Whoniverse.
