Maran was a temporal scientist from the ship the Doctor's TARDIS crashed into. He was the worst affected by the crash as he kept falling in and out of existence. He was exterminated by a Dalek whilst he was phasing in and out of being a Dalek. He was a Dalek that became un-evolved by the time crash, becoming a Kaled. (AUDIO: Effect and Cause)
