LHC dating[[edit source]]

Hi, I'm a very casual contributor to the wiki. You can call me Noob.

Anyway, I noticed the robot in this story mentionned the Large Hadron Collider. The line went something like "a human like you with tech like this is like a cow operating your Large Hadron Collider" which Suzie calls out as a local reference. Now I don't know a lot about the LHC or its history but I know it was turned on in 2008 in real life and around the same time in the Whoniverse (tho not exactly the same time because other given dates don't allow Lost Souls to be set on its release dates.) This story is explicitly set on November 29, 2006.

Again, I don't know much about the LHC so the reference to it could still make sense in 2006, but the whole thing smells fishy to me. In any case I'm not at all certain of how and where that detail should be presented on the page. So I'll just leave this here so someone who actually knows what they're doing (and knows their LHC history) can add the proper and accurate trivia on the page. (That is, if there's even something to note about it. Like I said, the LHC reference could make perfect sense for all I know.) 173.176.173.131talk to me 03:03, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi if you read the policy at T:NO RW you will see that we don't use real world information on in-universe pages thanks. Shambala108 05:06, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Extremis did tell us that the LHC was opened in 2008, though, so T:NO RW doesn't really come into it. That said, it took about 10 years to build, so it's not totally bizarre that someone might make a joke about it beforehand. Thanks Noob! – n8 () 14:13, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Happy to help, and about the "No Real World" policy, I recall seeing several instances where seemingly accidental historical discrepancies are pointed out as divergences between the Whoniverse and the real world so I thought it might have been of note regardless of other in-universe accounts.
Then again, I'm a noob so what do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As User:Shambala108 said, T:NO RW is about our in-universe coverage. But yes, the discrepancies can be noted, in the 'Behind the scenes' sections only. Scrooge MacDuck 23:07, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
