Koh-i-Noor

The Koh-i-Noor was a diamond, regarded as the greatest of its kind in the world. There was a myth that whoever owned the diamond must surely die. (TV: Tooth and Claw)

The jewel was passed between the Earth's ruling families for a thousand years. It was owned by the Khaljis, Mughals, Shahs and Sikhs before it came into the possession of Queen Victoria, who had Maharaja Duleep Singh give it to her as a gift, humiliating him. (AUDIO: Fortitude)

Albert, the Queen's husband, constantly had it cut down for it to meet the exact specifications he needed for the light chamber.

In 1879, while being taken to a jeweller to have the stone recut, it was used in combination with the light chamber to kill a Lupine Wavelength Haemovariform. While inspecting it, the Tenth Doctor claimed that it was worth "the wages of the entire planet for a whole week"; Rose Tyler jokingly said that Jackie Tyler would fight the werewolf with her bare hands for it, the Doctor adding that she would win. (TV: Tooth and Claw)

It was smaller than the Veiled Leopard. (AUDIO: The Veiled Leopard)

The Twelfth Doctor later told Bill Potts about the Koh-I-Noor, commenting that she should see and that he'd once fought a werewolf with it. (COMIC: The Wolves of Winter)
