Simon Callow CBE (born 13 June 1949[1]) played Charles Dickens in the Doctor Who television stories The Unquiet Dead and The Wedding of River Song and voiced Tree Lorn Acre Slitheen-Blathereen in The Sarah Jane Adventures television story The Gift.

He was one of many names put forward for the part of the Eighth Doctor.[2]

Callow has made statements against Stonewall's (an LGTBQ+ charity) pro-transgender movements.
