Defence Minister (The Assassination Threat)
In 2066, the Defence Minister for the World Government was the subject of an assassination plot.
He visited Paris and was due to drive in a procession with the French President. The Bereznik agent Hermutt Clinger was sent to kill him as this was happening but Roger Lyon, an operative of Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, discovered his plans. To incorporate a now kidnapped Roger into them, Clinger told him he would frame him for the assassination and then fabricate his subsequent suicide, as he would be "unable to face the consequences of [his] terrible deed". Just as the procession came into view, however, Lady Penelope and Parker broke into the room, rescuing Roger and throwing Clinger off a balcony, thus saving the Minister.
