Catherine was the daughter of Thomas and Isobel. She lived in Edinburgh in 1645.

Catherine was struck with the bubonic plague, and became bedridden. Her parents sat with her as she lay dying with little hope for a cure. The plague doctor visited the family twice and on the second occasion took Catherine away, leaving her parents to believe that she was deceased.

A manifestation created by the Psycholops was believed to be her ghost by her parents, this was intended to reduce their grief but in fact increased it.

Catherine was later cured by the Twelfth Doctor with a tablet taken from the TARDIS. She was then reunited with her family. (PROSE: Plague City)
