A British government minister broadcast a message announcing that the government emergency committee COBRA formulated an action plan to cut pathways through the global forest which grew overnight on Earth using "carefully controlled fires" to allow essential services to move. He further asked the population to stay at homes and fill the homes' baths, sinks and buckets with fresh water. Maebh Arden watched the minister's broadcast on her mobile phone.
