Re: Please undelete The Doctor's First and Last words[[edit source]]
User:Shambala108 explained why she (EDIT: oops, meant to say "we", as in "we the admin", with me having been the one who pressed the button) deleted your page at Talk:The Doctor's First and Last words. Scrooge MacDuck ⊕ 19:07, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- Technically that's not quite true. I explained why User:Scrooge MacDuck deleted the page. Shambala108 ☎ 01:20, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, sorry, my mistake. I deleted the page, Shambala explained the rationale — but the point of that rationale stands.
- In truth, even if we were interested in having a page on this subject, your draft was really quite unworkable — starting from the page name: the capitalisation is all wrong. It would have had to be The Doctor's first and last words; we don't use article case on our article names, except when we are directly quoting our sources (e.g. story titles). See, for example, The Doctor's early life, not "The Doctor's Early Life". It was also written in the present tense (when all articles should instead be written in the past tense), and it didn't cite its sources properly. And, on top of everything else it was incorrect anyway as a matter of in-universe fact (the Second Doctor's last words weren't heard in The War Games, but rather in The Night Walkers!)
- But I do realise it was intended positively, not random trolling, and I hope you will be able to use this constructive criticism to get a better idea of how pages on this Wiki are written, and become a productive editor in the future. Also, if you want to curate a list of Doctors' first and last words, or some other subject not suitable for a real Wiki page, you can do so as a user supbage. Although I think other editors on the Wiki are already curating user pages on this topic, so perhaps in this specific case you'd be repeating some work that has already been done.
