The Heavy Scent of Violence was an unproduced story written by George Kerr for Season 4. This idea was submitted around the start of April 1966 and rejected by story editor Gerry Davis on 15 June 1966 on the grounds that it was too confusing and too dark at times to be broadcast as a family show.

Not a lot is known about the script, other than the premise that the villain was supposed to be an evil version of a companion from an alternate timeline. It is unclear whether this was intended to be an evil version of one of the show's current companions, or an old companion.
