Thomas More

Over a round of drinks, the Fifth Doctor learnt to his dismay that William Shakespeare had not done any historical research for his play Richard III, instead using as his sole basis a work which the Doctor dubbed "that nonsense by Thomas More".

By 1539, More had died. When the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa visited the court of King Henry VIII, as one of the people he had most wanted to meet, the Doctor was disappointed to find out More was deceased. (PROSE: God Send Me Well to Keep)
