The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" was a poem written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

The First Doctor once quoted the poem, (AUDIO: Fields of Terror) as did the Fifth Doctor. (AUDIO: Loups-Garoux)

Vicki Pallister believed that the poem, which told of a traveller who was afraid to look behind him, perfectly summed up the First Doctor. (AUDIO: Fields of Terror)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Jodie Whittaker read a section of the poem as a part of The Ancient Mariner Big Read.[1]
