An incarnation of the Doctor was active in 1988. She was the "first female Dr Who". She redesigned the interior of her TARDIS by adding wallpaper and carpet because she believed it would make the place more homely. One decorator at her disposal used pink paint. (NOTVALID: The Next 20 Years)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Introduced in 1983, this Doctor was the first female Doctor introduced officially in any medium. Joanna Lumley's Female Doctor in 1999's The Curse of Fatal Death was the first incarnation of the Doctor played by a woman onscreen. From then, the Doctor has been portrayed by a female numerous times, including Arabella Weir in AUDIO: Exile, Jodie Whittaker in TV: Twice Upon a Time, and Jo Martin in TV: Fugitive of the Judoon.
