The Surgeon was the Superior physician who carried out the V-Time Experiment. In the operating theatre of Duskeriall Palace, a family of Superiors observed as the Surgeon used a staff-length needle to unravel Chris Cwej's flesh so that his consciousness could be transferred to the Vicinity. The Surgeon, in psychic communion with the entire family, telepathically lectured Cwej throughout the procedure, and then helped him rise from the gurney in a new, interim body. Years later, when Cwej recounted his experience to Kwol's data ghost, he did not recall the Surgeon's gender or anything about their physical appearance. (PROSE: The V Cwejes)
