Deletion

I have multiple reasons why I feel that the deletion of this category is unjustified.

  1. Firstly, it does not remotely make sense that something not being a story doesn't justify an image category; something can lack a narrative and still provide images that should be categorised.
  2. Secondly, invalid or not, this is objectively a story. There is a plot, and it essentially being one long deleted scene doesn't change that fact.
  3. Thirdly, the rationale that the category caused problems doesn't make sense, as it was a category like any other.
  4. Fourth, it being a "filmed rehearsal" still constitutes a story that has been made available to watch on home media. Regardless of the context of it's production, it is still a story — not like it even matters as non-narrative stuff can have image categories.
  5. Fifth, the statement that the category merely contained images of home media covers is incorrect — not that even if this was true, it would still merit the existence of this category. There are several relevant to this story that aren't covers, such as:

For the reasons I outlined, I summarily request this category restored. I can only wish this deletion had any least been discussed here, first, else this bother may have been avoided.

Ok first of all, as a disclaimer, I'm not the admin who deleted this category. However, sometimes actions have to be taken because of technical issues (and as the least technical admin, and, probably, user, I can't be more specific), and they don't require community consensus. So if there are technical issues caused by the category, it probably won't be reinstated. Hopefully User:CzechOut will give more details, but for now I just wanted to explain the basic policy. Oh of course, if there is a valid technical issue, that is easily fair reason. Only concerns I have is that this category appeared to be no different from any other, and @CzechOut didn't detail it in his edit summary. 22:02, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
I generally consider myself to be pretty well-versed in the technical side of the wiki and, while I do not know everything and certainly do not know what CzechOut was thinking, I can not think of a reason as to why this category might have been causing technical problems. Maybe there's some obscure issue with SMW but I don't know what it would be. Anyway, if there are no major issues, I support restoring this category. Bongo50 12:13, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
