- Christopher Columbus embarks on his first voyage to the Americas which would lead to him erroneously being credited as having discovered the continent (in fact others had visited the continent over the previous half-millennia). Nonetheless, his voyages trigger the large-scale exploration and colonization of the "New World". Sometime before, during, or after this voyage, the Doctor acquires the explorer's business card (DW: The Two Doctors)
