Secretary of State was a role in the British government. The Secretary of State had the power to get an individual released from prison. In February 1945, when Adam Wheeler was wrongfully arrested in Piccadilly on charges of looting, Winston Churchill asked the Secretary of State to have him released. (AUDIO: Churchill Victorious)
