Can we change the name now, it has been agreed and all links have been removed? Denchen 11:49, November 6, 2016 (UTC)

Why was this changed to "TV story" when it's an advertisement and therefore not a story? Shambala108 02:11, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
It's a common mistake that this is an advert, it's really not. It was the BBC's attempt at a heart warming Christmas story but at the end, it advertised nothing. Other than perhaps their shows. No reference was made to try and sell something.

Take Transmission from Mars, it's a story yet it also served as a means of selling you the box set. That's what SBMAGOS is, a narrative story with a hidden purpose. - Denchen: Lord of Invalidness 07:45, November 28, 2016 (UTC)

I've just watched SBMAGOS on YouTube, and, honestly, it's very different from Transmission from Mars. Transmission is a Doctor Who story, with a DWU character. SBMAGOS is an advertisement, which features a DWU character. TFM is a DW story that advertises The Triumph of Sutekh. SBMAGOS is a real world video that celebrates Christmas, and advertises the Christmas episodes BBC broadcasted on 2015. OncomingStorm12th 16:46, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
If we change Sprout Boy then Transmission should be changed. The clear reason, no matter how true it is, is that it's the first proper on screen appearance of Bernice and that's why nobody wants it changed. - Denchen: Lord of Invalidness 20:34, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
First of all, if you have an issue with Transmission from Mars, bring it up on Talk:Transmission from Mars, not here.
Second, it's probably best if you stop attributing motives to people when you don't know what they are. Shambala108 23:02, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
I honestly don't have a problem with TFM but you we can't have rules for one and rules for another. I was speaking generally with the motive thing. Anyways best wishes. - Denchen: Lord of Invalidness 23:11, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, but this is not a forum page, it's a talk page for a specific article. Requesting a change for something else should be done on its talk page. And User:OncomingStorm12th's comments seem to me to indicate a difference between the two things. Shambala108 23:15, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
It's not having rules for one and rules for another. The thing is: we can't really compare a Christmas advertisement with a small story (roughly speaking, TFM is a "prequel" to The Triumph of Sutekh) and apply the same dab terms. OncomingStorm12th 00:03, November 29, 2016 (UTC)

Resolving this[[edit source]]

Okay, so eleven months ago I removed the rename tag on the basis that the prior talk page discussion had dried up five years prior (and some of the participants aren't even active anymore!) but my edit was reverted as only an Admin can do that... apparently. (Not tryin' to start a argument here though, heh.)

Considering it has been around six years now, and that this Wiki has ample precedent for stories to both be adverts, and y'know, stories (regardless of validity) can we all agree that this page should remain with a dab? And besides, moving all those links to go along with a rename... what would be the point?
