36 Bannerman Road — or, according to some accounts, number 12 — was a house on Bannerman Road in Ealing. It was located opposite 13 Bannerman Road, the home of Sarah Jane Smith. Maria Jackson and, later, Rani Chandra lived there. (TV: The Last Sontaran, The Day of the Clown)

Jackson residence

Maria Jackson's bedroom was located on the upper floor in the attic space at the front of the house. Despite her parents' divorce, Maria kept a holiday photo of herself with her mother and father on a bedroom shelf above her television.

The living room was located on the ground floor, below Maria's bedroom. It ran the length of the house, from the front to the back. The dining room was on the ground floor at the back of the house, and had a serving hatch through to the kitchen. (TV: Invasion of the Bane)

History

According to Kelsey Hooper, the former residents went mad and ran away. She had heard rumours from her mum's friend, Kath Pontin, who said "a bloke kept going on at her about seeing aliens".

The house was sold by Archer & Lewis to Alan Jackson, who lived there with his daughter Maria. (Invasion of the Bane)

Behind the scenes

Dialogue in The Last Sontaran and The Day of the Clown establishes the exact address as 36 Bannerman Road. In Invasion of the Bane and other episodes throughout the first series, though, the address of the house is clearly 12. It is possible, but unconfirmed, that 12 is the address of the real-life house used for filming in the first series, similar to the situation with Sarah Jane's house.
