User talk:Tellymustard
Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.
Sexedit source
While I'm sure there's good faith in your recent edits to sex, I'd like to note that all images need a license and need to be cited to the story they come from. Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 22:16, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, I was editing at the same time as you leading to edit conflicts and I made a few mistakes with adding the images. It should be better now. Tellymustard ☎ 22:51, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- By the way, as said above, please add licensing to your images, I won't add them for you in future. When uploading, there's a guide on how to properly license it during the uploading process (also, in future, please place your replies on my talk page under a new section (in this case, "RE: Sex", as this discussion was under "Sex", and "RE:" is used to indicate that it's a response to messages in said discussion)). Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 23:18, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
Please stop messaging meedit source
Yes, your messages are annoying me. I'm currently very preoccupied at the moment with overtime at work in the warehouse, which is already getting busy due to the Christmas rush getting started, and is also the night shift, which gets more packages due to next day deliveries being done overnight, as well as spending time with the family while I can. The reason I've been doing a lot of editing in the past few days is because this is my last bit of holiday before I go to single nights off due to overtime needing to be done, and I've been prioritising the edits I want to make before my free time gets even more restricted, and, believe me, discussing the placement of the Seventh Doctor's timeline for the millionth time is very low on my list of priorities, especially when the timeline is slowly going back to its old look. So, please, I will get to it in my own time, but it won't be anytime soon. Please don't respond to do this on my talk page, it's getting cluttered, and I do get notifications from Gmail about the talk pages and will keep up with how it goes.BananaClownMan ☎ 10:10, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
RE: File on sex pageedit source
I've just seen your message. The file wasn't deleted by admins, one of Fandom's official bots automatically deleted it as NSFW (I'm aware it was from an in-universe source and wasn't necessarily explicit, but the bot can't differentiate in that respect). Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 17:54, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- I couldn't tell you myself, although I assume it's an image scanner. Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 21:59, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I see that Cookieboy got to you faster than me but, for the record, if you need to see such rationales in the future, you can either go to the original file's link, or browse through Special:Log/delete and find the link you're looking for. Either option will show you who deleted the file and the reason behind it. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 01:47, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
Release dates datingedit source
Hello, there. I shall try to be brief, because I just got back from work and I need to go to bed to prepare for some overtime. (I had only intended to use the computer to update my MCU homepage for the latest Black Panther film).
I've noticed you've been reorganising a lot of timeline pages to correlate with their date of release, even the ones that are not required for such placings. Allow me to elaborate; in previous years, arbitrary stories that offered no information at all on placement were just placed at random. It was not until User:SarahJaneFan arrived that they proposed that stories should be placed in the order of their release. There was some residence to the idea, since random placements could be more fun, like a puzzle in one's head, until the inability to agree on random placements got too close to editing waring, so it was kind of agreed that arbitrary placements should go in release order, with stories that offered clues to their placements going out of release order. Some subheadings have even been created just so arbitrary placements can easily be put at the end upon release.
I hope you found this enlightening, though I will admit it is not my best writing due to writing it in exhaustion from several nights works catching up with me. Yours in friendliness, BananaClownMan ☎ 09:32, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hello. I've received multiple complaints about your activities — as outlined, in part, above. In addition to the fact of the matter on release order precedent, please understand that as a rule, you should not radically move around TV story placements without prior discussion. Your edit summary using the F-word was also more rudely-worded than we tend to strive for on the Wiki; please try to keep calm. Scrooge MacDuck ⊕ 21:07, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Editing and personal attacksedit source
Hello. You might not have read the guides towards being part of the community here since you've called me "an nasty American" (I'm Welsh, by the way) and calling me "an user that was in a bad mood".
On that note, for the sake of your future edits, perhaps look up when to use a and an. In both of the above insults directed towards me, you should have used a. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 21:19, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Well I was saying you were acting like one of those nasty albino Americans, not that you were American. Sorry, but I can not honestly apologise. I don't like giving fake apologies because I don’t like being dishonest. The thing is other users have been so much kinder than you. Take Bananaclownman for example. I harassed him, which I now feel very horrible about. Yet he continued to be perfectly kind to me, he did go a little to far in being kind but he tried his best. While you just reversed every single bloody edit instead of fixing the problems you had with them. Tellymustard ☎ 21:29, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- "Nasty albino Americans" is a horrible thing to say. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 21:31, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- As an American who isn't albino, I'm more confused than offended. I do actually know some people who are albino (it's really quite a rare condition) and they're very sweet. Like, this is obviously a violation of our no personal attacks rule, but it's just a bizarre one. Najawin ☎ 21:42, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- By albino I meant Caucasian skin tone not albino. I know because I am a white American, I was born in America and still live there. The white skinned Americans are a barbaric and repulsing people for the most part. I am ashamed of my combination of skin tone and birth place all the time. Tellymustard ☎ 21:46, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't really know what to say. You shouldn't feel ashamed for your skin colour or birth place nor make generalised statements about groups of people which could very well be considered offensive. Jack "BtR" Saxon ☎ 21:50, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Blockedit source
I'm guessing you know why you were blocked, but for the record, your repeated violations of Tardis:No personal attacks on User talk:Scrooge MacDuck and several timeline talk pages/edit summaries. Saying that you can criticize white males because you are one is a faulty logic, because there are lots of other white males that you insulted in the process. Your block is for a month. I suggest you reread everything that was posted regarding your edits and comments and maybe when you come back you can avoid behavior that would lead to another block. Shambala108 ☎ 21:06, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- I see what I did on the edit summaries, but how did I personally attack anyone on user talk: Scrooge mcduck? Tellymustard ☎ 21:13, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- Trying to get around your block by making edits on your talk page will only make the situation worse for you. Take some friendly advice from me and just wait this out. Also, in case you think about it, don't try to get around it by logging out and using your IP address; I've seen exiled users try that tactic, but they get found out due to their editing patterns.BananaClownMan ☎ 10:48, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
7th Doctor Timelineedit source
But this just isn't true. Nobody but you discusses the comics placement. You just assume that the PDAs and comics placements you decided on are kosher. I guess maybe The Haunting of Bryck Place should be moved back? But I don't really do timeline discussions in the first place. The issue is just that the talk page history very clearly does not establish that everyone had come to a consensus on the changes you made. You just assumed that people agreed and changed things. BCM probably should have made sure everyone was okay with changing it back. But he wasn't wrong to do so. (I, of course, say this as another regular user, not as an admin. Feel free to ask an admin to overrule me.) Najawin ☎ 01:16, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
Vandalismedit source
Hi please note that per Tardis:Vandalism policy and Tardis:Deletion policy you shouldn't blank a page that is vandalism. Instead put a Proposed deletion tag on it. Deleting the content just makes more work for the admins to decide if it is vandalism or not. Thanks Shambala108 ☎ 15:44, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
Sandbox: Sullivan and Crossedit source
- Basically Big Finish don’t use pictures from the movie on their covers anymore. It’s because them (and the bbc) are worried about rights issues because they don’t solely own the movie because it was made in the US. That’s why there’s composite covers of the Eighth Doctor in his TV movie costume with an older Paul McGann head and why the Seventh Doctor looks young on pretty much all recent solo covers. Dark Universe is supposed to be right before the TV Movie but he’s young on the cover, Subterfuge states that he looks older but he’s young on the cover, and this one again has him young on the cover but I’d argue them putting him in the TV Movie costume was meant to be indication that it’s set later. The last time a TV Movie picture was used on a BF cover was back in 2019, so you can’t really trust covers for that anymore. SarahJaneFan ☎ 01:04, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- I know nothing about the larger issue, but using covers has always been a complicated topic on the wiki. The forum archives on this can't be accessed, but suffice it to say that you should take covers with a grain of salt. Again, I know nothing about the larger issue, this is a general statement about how we treat covers on this wiki. (There are a wide variety of reasons why, covers will occasionally outright contradict what happens in the story, iirc.) Najawin ☎ 01:28, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

User pageedit source
Hi, please note that the infobox on your user page is only allowed for in-universe character articles. We do have an "infobox user" that you can use instead thanks Shambala108 ☎ 03:27, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
Digital availabilityedit source
I don't know that it was ever formally decided upon. But T:BOUND unofficially means "don't make large changes to the wiki without discussing things first" (I can pull up some discussions where admins say this if you want.) Changing how we handle Torchwood's distribution stuff is a relatively small issue, but it's something you should talk about first, rather than just change. Najawin ☎ 19:25, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
