An artificial gravity core was a component in a Darkstar warpship that created artificial gravity. It worked by electromagnetism.
After increasing the strength of a core's electromagnetism using his sonic screwdriver, the Twelfth Doctor was able to stop Captain van Volk and his Steel Reivers by throwing the active core towards them, bringing them crashing into each other. (COMIC: The Fractures)
