Bag

A bag was a container for items that an individual could carry. Supermarkets often gave out bags for customers to carry their shopping in. (TV: Love & Monsters) As well as having practical uses, some bags such as handbags could be worn as accessories to an outfit. (TV: Partners in Crime) A rucksack was another kind of bag that was worn over the shoulders. (PROSE: The Wrong Hands) Certain bags were also linked to specific trades: physicians often carried stiff leather bags called Gladstone bags, (TV: Doctor Who) and workmen would often keep their tools in a functional tool bag. (TV: Welcome to the TARDIS...) Torchwood Three sometimes used body bags to transport and dispose of corpses. (PROSE: Mrs Acres)
