Annie Chapman
Annie Chapman was a prostitute murdered on Hanbury Street by Jack the Ripper on a cold, September night in 1888. She was named as the second canonical victim by the guide in a 2011 Jack the Ripper walk. A few steps from where she was murdered, the Eleventh Doctor and Rory Williams sneaked into his tour group. (COMIC: Ripper's Curse)
Jed Barrow followed the shadowy figure of the Valeyard from the crypt at Christ Church to the scene of the second Ripper murder. He could hear the woman's faint, strangled cries from behind the gates of the back yard in Hanbury Street before he ran away. (PROSE: Matrix) Ace had known of the street as the place where Jack the Ripper "did in one of his birds". (PROSE: Birthright)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Chapman isn't named in the novels but Matrix clearly identifies the sequence of victims. The street is depicted but unnamed in the comic series.
