Barry Brown was an employee of Ashley Chapel Logistics, and Cassie's father. He suspected that the Millennium Codex was to be used for nefarious purposes, so he stole a copy to investigate it further. When the Great Kingdom was created, he became Bartholomew, one of Melaphyre's advisor. (PROSE: Millennial Rites)
