The Jathaa were an alien race who used a type of transport known as the Jathaa sunglider.

The Jathaa had interstellar travel capabilities by the late 20th century and by the 1990s had begun to visit Earth.
In 1997, a Jathaa Sunglider was shot down by the Torchwood Institute over the North Sea. It was kept in Torchwood 1. (TV: Army of Ghosts) Its weapons system was back-engineered for use against alien invasions. (TV: The Christmas Invasion)
In the 2000s, a squad of at least three Jathaa ships were transported to over the Taj Mahal when the Cardiff Space-Time Rift temporarily fractured across the Earth. (TV: End of Days)
