The TARDIS Index File Doctor Who Wiki is a collaborative project to create the most definitive, accurate, and accessible encyclopedia and reference database for everything related to Doctor Who, as such there are things that the TARDIS Index File Doctor Who wiki is not.
What the TARDIS Index File Doctor Who Wiki is not
- TARDIS Index File is not Wikipedia, the TARDIS Index File seeks to create a unique encyclopedia featuring detailed information and unique information which is apart from Wikipedia.
- TARDIS Index File is not a place to post fan fiction, information relating to fan fiction or fan produced titles. As out User page policy states Doctor Who Fanon Wiki or Doctor Who Expanded may be used for this.
- TARDIS Index File is not a free web host, users may create a unique user page, but it is not your primary contribution to this wiki. See Tardis:User page policy for more information.

- TARDIS Index File is not a promotion site for to post advertising.
- Articles that are considered advertisements include those that are promotions for business, product or articles designed as pieces of public relations to promote an event, individual or company.
- Such articles are notable for their sales orientated language, prevalence of external links to a commercial website and are written to promote the product, service or event in favourable manner.
What the TARDIS Index File Doctor Who Wiki community is not
- The TARDIS Index File is not a general purpose message board, the Forum, user pages, article talk pages will attract conversation, that's what they're there for. These discussions should be focused on the title of subject of the talk or forum pages.
