Now I may be imagining this but I could swear I read a few years back somewhere that in one version of events Morton Dill was Steven under an alias trying to disguise himself after accidentally arriving right before the Doctor (who hadn't yet met him at that point in his personal timeline) and didn't want to reveal himself and risk altering the timeline or creating a paradox. Kinda sounds like something that would happen in the VNA line. I'm not just imagining that, am I?
