Yeah, the Game of Rassilon began before the old prefix list was completely rationalised, so category:Brief Encounter stories was born. When all other stories were put into categories that used the prefix that formerly accompanied them, it was necessary to create category:BE stories, which is their current "real" category. The original "Brief Encounter stories" survives because if it were changed, it would wreck a Game of Rassilon award track. So "Brief Encounter stories" is hidden, while "BE stories" is not.

But then, this is all explained at category:Brief Encounter stories, as duplicated below:

All pages in this category also have the category category:BE stories. When this category is retired from the Game of Rassilon, it should be deleted, as category:BE stories is more in keeping with the nomenclature of other, similar categories.

Since Brief Encounter began in the pages of Doctor Who Magazine, and always appeared in either that magazine or its sister publications, this category is a part of category:DWM prose stories. Please note, however, that this category is complete. There will never be a need to add or delete pages from it. This series has been cancelled for almost 20 years. All its instalments are members of this category, as of 02:05, 5 September, 2011 (UTC).

Do not mistake all short stories in DWM as Brief Encounter short stories. Indeed, there are several issues of DWM which have had both BE stort stories and one-off short stories.
